ALABASTER BOX! “The Act Of Forgiveness”

The Act Of Forgiveness

I love Cece Winans’ song, “Alabaster Box”.

It is very special and says vivid things on the act of forgiveness.

Everything about it from the lyrics to the rhythms are in synergy with the message the song is expected to pass!

If you do not know the value of forgiveness, go through the wordings of the song carefully and ponder the strength and significance of each!

If you are able to understand the effect of forgiveness, you will begin to enjoy it’s worth each time you forgive a wrong done to you and oh, how sweet the feeling is, when someone accepts your failings by forgiving you!

Lyrics of the first stanza are;

“The room grew still
As she made her way to Jesus
She stumbles through the tears that made her blind
She felt such pain
Some spoke in anger
Heard folks whisper
There’s no place here for her kind
Still on she came
Through the shame that flushed her face
Until at last, she knelt before his feet
And though she spoke no words
Everything she said was heard
As she poured her love for the Master
From her box of alabaster…”

So beautiful, Mary had confidence and knew the master has solutions for all her problems, she needn’t say anything cause He knew!

We ought to always show gratitude for forgiving and being forgiven!
What else does Mary needs more than appreciation which she gives to Him in praise and thanksgiving?

“…So now I’m giving back to Him
All the praise He’s worthy of
I’ve been forgiven
And that’s why
I love Him so much…”

“…And I’ve come to pour
My praise on Him…”

Now hear the quality of gratitude from a part in the chorus!

“…You weren’t there the night Jesus found me
You did not feel what I felt
When He wrapped his loving arms around me and
You don’t know the cost of the oil
Oh, you don’t know the cost of my praise
You don’t know the cost of the oil
In my alabaster box…”

Forgiveness has awesome powers!!!
